Oh, these are stunning.

I watched the whole season, granted it was on DVR, and I wished fervishly that Carol Hannah would win. Unfortunately, she didn’t - but it’s obvious that didn’t stop her!

Carol Hannah was my favorite! She makes the most beautiful dresses.

I just learned that my room mate will be moving out the first week of January. She got a huge opportunity in which she’ll be moving in with the family she nannies for closer to the Charlotte area. With this, her boss will be paying for the rest of her side of the rent for the duration of the the lease.

This is huge.
(Obviously.)

If things happen according to plan, I’ll be getting out of debt within the next month or so. After that, I can concentrate more closely on starting back at school and so on.

Here’s my dilemma: I don’t necessarily want to live alone just yet so I’m willing to share my two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with someone via splitting the rest of the bills. This will come up to about $300 (for electricity, cable, rent, water, internet, etc.) a month.

I live in Winston (on the Greensboro side) and if you’re interested in being my room mate, awesome. Hit me up with an email at lindsay.dinkins@gmail.com and we’ll schedule a day to do lunch and talk to see how well we get along. After a couple of these dates, I’ll show you the place and you can decide for yourself if you’re up for it.

Okay, so it’s not almost Spring. But there is the promise of my favorite time of the year. November and December are jam packed with love. The weather starts to turn cold, so I start wanting to snuggle up to any one of three things: a good book, a hot beverage, or my favorite boy. Maybe even all three. Alabama football is wrapping up it’s regular season and football always seems to go with houndstooth scarves and hot chocolate in my mind. Then there is Thanksgiving, one of the few times a year I get to see all of the extended family in one place these days. And the food! Oh, how I love food. My birthday is on December 8 (23 this year!). I usually don’t like being the center of attention outside of dance/colorguard performances, but it’s nice to be treated like a princess every once in awhile. And then Christmas!!! I love everything about Christmas and just thinking about it makes me smile. I’ll make a separate Christmas post later so this one doesn’t turn into a novel. So, anyway. This is a really cute song and it may not be the promise of Spring I’ve been thinking about, but the upcoming festivities are certainly cause for joy in my heart.

I have been told to use MATLAB in three separate math classes so far, yet no professor has taught me how to use it. How is this fair? In differential equations I basically followed the one example that was given, all the while having no idea what I was doing or even what the questions were asking me to do. In matrix theory we were given a sheet of basic commands and only did simple calculations, so we really didn’t get into the software at all. Now, in numerical analysis, I am being asked to write a program from scratch to solve systems of nonlinear equations using various methods we learned in class. I don’t know the language. I lucked out in actually having some programming experience, but it is not a prerequisite for the course. I have two days to figure this out.
